Bob Bakst is CEO of Dr. Fix It and AccessibilityContractor.com, which were found in 1996. Bakst and has over thirty years of experience as a licensed general contractor and an authorized dealer of Acorn Stairlifts.
Bakst and his project management team are experienced in all phases of commercial, municipal and residential construction. He is also an approved vendor for the MA Home Loan Modification Program that funds accessibility improvement programs for people with disabilities. In addition, he does contract work for the MA Independent Living Centers and the MA Department of Developmental Services.
Bakst has been a lead contractor or participant in a mixture of projects including schools, churches, public buildings and nursing homes. He has also completed hundreds of residential improvement projects with a special focus on accessible design.
Bakst is active in volunteering and dedicated his time in helping various advocacy groups for senior citizens. He is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist and is a frequent speaker/trainer on accessibility and home modifications. He is affiliated with the following organizations:
- Founder of National Association of Aging in Place, Boston Chapter.
- A Member Sen-Net, an advocacy group of care providers for senior citizens.
- Lead contractor in over 15 projects for Rebuilding Together Boston, one of the largest charitable organization in the United States that provides extensive rehabilitation and modification services to homeowners in need.
- Member of the Alzheimer’s Association.
